in 1979, Bill Penny graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in accounting from St. Mary's University (now the Sobey School of Business) in Halifax. Upon graduation, Bill moved to Prince George, B.C. where he obtained his CA designation with Deloitte. In 1985, Bill transferred to Deloitte's London office, where as a senior manager, he serviced a variety of clients with a concentration in construction and real estate development.

In 1991, Bill left the public practice to work in the private industry as a CFO for a group of companies with interests in manufacturing, real estate development and retail operations, both in Canada and the Caribbean. Thereafter, Bill re-entered public accounting and was a founding member of Zaritsky Penny LLP where he provided accounting, auditing, tax and business consulting services to a variety of professionals and owner managed small business clients. Bill continues to service his growing clientele with more access to specialty services offered by the combined firm of NPT LLP.

Bill is a member of CA IT Alliance, who's mission is to encourage and recognize excellence in the provision of Information Technology services by Chartered Accountants. He completed the Institute of Chartered Accountants' In-Depth Tax Course in 2002. He has significant cross border experience working with SEC registrants in the mining and alternate energy industries.

Throughout his professional career, Bill has been active in the community by volunteering with local not-for-profit organizations. He has been recognized as one of the founders of a successful residential subtance abuse treatment centre serving several terms as chairman and as a board member for 20 years.
