BDO and NPT merge to create one of London’s largest national accounting and advisory firms

London, Ontario, 29 May, 2015 – BDO Canada LLP, (‘BDO’) one of the largest accounting and advisory firms in Canada, announces the merger of NPT LLP (‘NPT’), a London based professional accounting and advisory firm.  The addition of NPT creates a dominant national firm in the London area and underscores a period of rapid expansion for BDO, which has secured four strategic mergers over the past six months.  As a result of these mergers, an additional 220 staff and 18 partners have been added to its Canadian firm in key market areas.

Founded in 1993, NPT has grown since its inception and currently comprises 45 staff and ten partners and is one of the largest non-national accounting firms in Southwestern Ontario.  The firm services the professional, medical, entrepreneurial and owner-managed business community principally in London and the surrounding 401 corridor.  In addition to its traditionally strong accounting and tax capabilities, NPT has invested in specialty teams dedicated to providing wealth management and valuation advisory services.

NPT has developed a strong presence in Healthcare, Construction and the Not-for-Profit sectors and is registered with the Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB) for audits of publicly listed entities. The depth and expertise of NPT complements and strengthens BDO’s existing offering in the London area and increases the combined team to over 80 staff and partners.

The combination of BDO and NPT is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed on July 1, 2015. NPT was previously a member of the PKF North America Network.
